Things are looking gre—

We left Mississippi so excited for the trip ahead. The 2nd stop went off way better than expected. We were only a few hours away from our next stop of New Orleans, so we did a mid-week switch. Working while traveling was going to have some obstacles I knew we’d have to be flexible with.

For example, if check out was at 10 a.m. EST on a Tuesday, I would need to find a wifi hotspot to work from for the remainder of the work day. For the days we had hotels booked, I could just go to the lobby. However, about 90% of the trip was Airbnb’s. I tried to keep the long drives (longer than 3 hours) to the weekends, but in some cases it didn’t make sense to be in one place for an entire week. Part of the reason this trip was taking 2 months, rather than 2 weeks, was because of this work/ drive schedule.

The first place we ran into this issue was heading to New Orleans. As mentioned, we left MS mid-week so when we had to check out by 10 am EST, we headed to a Panera to work out of the remainder of the day. We got coffee and lunch and overall it was pretty seemless. Then we got to the Airbnb.…

I should say, overall the house was comfortable and cute and had everything you would need. However, for people who had months worth of supplies in their car, the location was not suitable for on street parking. We stayed for maybe 15 minutes before we had rebooked a hotel closer to Bourbon St. It was frustrating, because this airbnb had great reviews (a post for a later date). We specifically looked at location due to our circumstances.

It was what it was, though. So we got back in the car, and off we went once again.
