Santa Fe, NM

Santa Fe was the peaceful, calm stop I desperately needed. It was day 20, and it was the first day I didn’t have to set an alarm to wake up 7am or earlier. We were seeing new things every single day, while working overtime at my job, while putting energy into my long distance relationship. Then I was feeling guilty for being exhausted, because what a life? What do I have to complain about? It’s a once in a lifetime trip with my mom. I’m so fortunate on so many levels. But, ultimately, this led me to my one & only breakdown of the trip. Pro tip: schedule a day to simply rest. You will need it.

My wonderful parents scrambled to book an extra night at the hotel so that we could catch up on sleep, and that did the trick! We explored the town square, where we grabbed dinner. There was a cute Christmas shop we went into, but for the most part the shops were high end western wear.

We had been told to go to Meow Wolf, an interactive art exhibit. It is a ticketed event, but entirely worth every penny.

Full of life again, were all set to hit the road to AZ in the morning…or so we thought.
